Pennsylvania Department of Corrections – Harrisburg, PA

Hudson Companies was invited to submit a proposal for the design, development and construction of new Central Administrative Offices for the Department of Corrections in 2008 by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

After a highly competitive and rigorous proposal process, Hudson Companies was selected as the owner/developer of the project. Retaining the professional services of the well respected HHSDR Architects & Engineers, Hudson Companies began work on Phase I of the 3-story building in late 2009 which included some 70,000 square feet of professional office space.

Phase II of the project followed quickly on the heels of Phase I occupancy, after both the Commonwealth and Department of Corrections announced their desire to proceed. Upon completion in the Spring of 2012, the 3-story now 100,000 square foot building houses nearly 500 employees including the Secretary of Corrections as well as various Deputy Secretaries of the PA Department of Correction’s Administration.
