The Hudson Companies is pleased to announce that it has begun construction on Evans Square, a 40-unit senior housing (62+) development located in Conneaut Lake, PA with funding assistance from the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency. The Hudson Companies, founded in 1977 by President and Managing Principal John M. Hudson, is a diverse real estate development and investment firm with holdings and development operations in multiple states and disciplines. Hudson has long been a leader in general construction, real estate development, and institutional investments since its founding.
On Wednesday June 14, The Hudson Companies team along with various other development partners and community organizations gathered to celebrate the groundbreaking of Evans Square. The event took place at the construction site and allowed attendees to view the progress made thus far. Tyler Hudson, Partner at The Hudson Companies, who leads the senior housing development division is quoted saying “We are excited to lead the development of this tremendous opportunity, as it is poised to provide safe, comfortable, and affordable lifestyle options to Conneaut Lake’s area seniors. While our primary goal is to enhance the quality of life for our residents, the addition of Evans Square will also contribute to the ever-improving landscape of Conneaut Lake.”
The development will feature amenities that include a generous community room, a wrap-around porch with an exterior fireplace, and spacious independent apartments. A design focus of environmental-friendly building features, which is a cornerstone feature of Hudson developments, will include everything from a rainwater harvesting system to energy-efficient controls that influence the ever-enhancing green technology. Hudson recognized that the competitive nature of funding meant there needed to be more than just mortar and siding to Evans Square. This spurred the inaugural Evans Square Innovation Center, which offers an innovative health and wellness curricula joint ventured with Thiel College, Allegheny College, and Primary Health Network. The program will offer educational enrichment programs by Thiel College, where residents can virtually audit coursework. Allegheny College students will have the opportunity to provide volunteer services through the Allegheny Gateway Civic Engagement program. Primary Health Network has committed health coaches to serve as health ambassadors for the active senior lifestyle. Evans Square is expected to be completed in Spring 2018.
